General Discussion / Re: Hey All
« on: May 15, 2019, 03:30:51 PM »
Here is the honest truth. What works for me does not necessarily work for others. I just hope that something I build adds to the community. There are many distributions from easy to hard and anything in between. If you have an issue, please post the problem so we can try to fix it. Just remember that sometimes there are no fixes for all hardware and circumstances. I hope you find a home free from Windows.

You can add the game section if you want. I will start later to do an actual install of the new stuff and test on how to get the games up and running.

Release Announcements / New ISO suggestions
« on: November 08, 2018, 05:55:07 PM »
I am hoping to release an updated ISO in December. I am going to try a few things and if it works then I am hoping UEFI will work, if not then the release will be an updated version so updates will not take so long. Please add suggestions to this thread on what to include or take out please.

Software Issues / Re: upgrade nvidia 410.60 drivers
« on: October 23, 2018, 09:47:46 PM »
Seems like I need to get on the ball, I will not really be able to do much until late November. I will be looking at the kernels for an update. I really do not like the 4.15 stuff at this time. Personally the 4.13 hwe kernel is working well for me and my hardware. I may build new computer to look at things with new hardware.

I'm still on my 3.5 version that has the 16.04 base but looks like the new release. I am thinking that it is a bad package description that is resulting in this. I am hoping this is the case and not a bad package. The 18.04 base is going to have some growing pains until around next summer I believe so that is the reason I actually recommend staying on the old base until things get sorted out. That advice is for production machines or something you need to work all the time.

The live password is without quotes is "live". I do not have experience with the 3g toggle but I did just setup my brothers' usb toggle. I just clicked on the network icon and entered the password for the connection. Let me look around and ask a few people on the keyring as that shouldn't show up and also more about your situation. If at all possible please send a screenshot so I can see what is going on as well as exactly what steps you did.

Try this "any time you're prompted for a "keyring password", leave it blank... even if it complains"

Let me know the results as the toggles sometimes give issues then you have others which do not.

This is a is the default gtk setting which can be adjusted. This is going to involve you editing a file and saving it and logging back into the account or rebooting. Go to your home folder and have thunar show hidden files. You should see a file called .gtkrc-2.0. Right click on the file and add:

Code: [Select]
style "scrollbar"
{
     GtkScrollbar::slider-width=25
}
class "GtkScrollbar" style "scrollbar"

The 25 is the size and can be adjusted to your liking. I think 15 is about stock and this might be to much of a change for your liking but it's changeable. I am posting the entire .gtkrc-2.0 so you can see how it should look.

Code: [Select]
gtk-menu-popdown-delay = 0
gtk-menu-bar-popup-delay = 0
gtk-enable-animations = 0
gtk-timeout-expand = 0

style "scrollbar"
{
     GtkScrollbar::slider-width=25
}
class "GtkScrollbar" style "scrollbar"

What scroll bars are you exactly talking about and where, so I can help you. The animations can be turned off as well as any effects can be modified by right clicking on an icon and selecting configure. I would suggest using the simple menu as there is an option for cairo dock and selecting what you desire. Selecting where it shows nothing should stop an effect and/or animation.

Try this for the new SuperGamer v4 version and if using an older Supergamer v3 version just google anbox for ubuntu 16.04.

Release Announcements / SuperGamer V4 Release

We are about to release a new version that has been done a different way. Putting into car terms: it has the look and feel of the old with a new chassis and engine. The iso is going to be 1.2GB in size. It is complete with Gimp 2.10, Timeshift, VLC 3.02 along with some tweaked cairo dock settings (new animated icons) and a fresh look with new wallpaper. Under a normal build the iso would be 1.8GB in size. I test built several iso's with different compressors for the squashfs. I went ahead and did a trade off and compressed the iso as much as I could to save download time and to not have a user need to install a whole lot of other things to use this, as a result, running live does take longer to get to the desktop. This has no effect once it is installed as it runs like a normal linux install.

I have not fixed plymouth at this time. If I get it working correctly it throws a frame buffer memory overrun. I do have a second beta iso which I will post in the near future but I am hoping to get plymouth fixed before hand.

I think I have fixed Plymouth. I have at least done it on a vm install and I know where the issue is at and is an easy fix. I know the sound volume was turned down to 45 or 50 percent so I am going to set it at 100 percent and let the users decide on where they want it. I have changed the cairo dock theme after looking at other docks and decided not to go back to wbar for an issue with a black box that cannot be fixed. The issue will go away after changing wallpaper and rebooting or logging back in but this looks bad and shouldn't happen and I shouldn't have to slow the desktop down to accommodate wbar. The fix was slowing the startup of wbar by 7 seconds at startup but it would still show a black box after changing wallpaper until a reboot or logging back in.
